I do the same thing at the same time every day. It is wonderful for my ADHD.

While my work at work is constantly changing Re: My last post, it helps that I go to work and leave at the same time every day. I get in at 8 and leave at 4. I take 30 minutes for lunch, which gives me a good 7 and a half hour day. That feels about right.

Then on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I go swimming at the Bon Air Pool after work. My Dad is usually able to join me, which is great.

But then I get lazy at night. I get tired. I don't stop at the grocery store on the way home, even though I should. I don't empty the dishwasher when I get home, even though I know it will only take a few minutes.

But on the days when I do force myself to get up and do it, I feel better. Like, a lot better.

I know I'm supposed to be sharing "hacks" in this post. Or insights, rather. But the reality of me and my ADHD (whether you believe ADHD is real or not is up to you. I have psych tests to support my claims.) is that I HAVE to force myself to just do stuff. Just Do It. I actually hate that tagline, always have. But frankly, it is the only way I can get stuff done. Once I am up, in motion, doing chores around my house, I keep moving, I keep finding little things to clean, to put away. My ADHD begins to work in my favor. The downside is that I often get halfway through putting something away, see something ELSE that needs to be put away on my way to put the first thing away, then start to put away the second thing, leaving the first thing in a completely different spot than when it started, but still not completely put away.

If you followed that, then you might have ADHD too.

But take it from me. If it takes less than five minutes to do it. Just do it.
